Why SoloLedger exists
SoloLedger wasn't built as a startup idea — it started as the tool I needed myself.
Founder's noteWhen I launched my own sole proprietorship, all I wanted was an easy way to keep track of what came in and what went out. Everything I tried was either a spreadsheet I had to design myself or accounting software built for fiduciaries — powerful, but overkill for one person.
So I built SoloLedger for myself first: create an invoice in a minute, snap a receipt with my phone, and always know how much to set aside for AHV and taxes. Everything lives in my own Google Sheet, so my data is never locked in.
That's still the bar for every feature: it has to be easy enough that I actually use it every day. I run my own books on SoloLedger — and if it makes your first year as simple as it made mine, it's doing its job.
